Sadly, the standards for "good" food in Pittsburgh are pretty low. So, I'm not surprised that many reviewers have awarded this place 4 and 5 stars. But, the reality is that this place would get a 2 star average in any of the major coastal cities. The chefs are trying. But, they don't quite know what to do. I had the duck cassoulet (a special for the evening) -- which featured undercooked potatoes, broccoli, and peppers. Undercooked potatoes is a technical mistake. But, broccoli and peppers are a conceptual mistake. They have no place in a cassoulet. They aren't an exciting addition to a traditional dish. They are just unusual garnish.
If you find Yelp reviews in Pittsburgh tend to be spot on, go ahead and visit this place. But, if you're a transplant from a land with good food who keeps hoping to find a satisfying meal in the area, it's not this place.
