  • I had Hale pet door come out to my house to install a through the wall pet door. The installer couldn't find a place to get the pet door through the wall because of the way my house is framed. The installer told me we could instead put the pet door in my sliding glass door. There was a pretty big cost difference between the through the wall door and the door through my slider so the installer offered me a discount to help soften the blow which I definitely appreciated. I was hesitating on doing the door through the slider so the installer told me to take a couple days and then decide if I wanted the door. I waited a couple days and decided to go with the pet door through my slider. I called the office and spoke with someone who said they would order the glass and that it would take about two weeks to get the glass made and shipped to them. Two weeks later I had not heard from anyone so I called to check on the status of my glass. When I called I was told that they needed to check with the factory on the status of my glass and that they would call me back. Five hours later I received a call from an installer saying my glass had never been ordered and that they needed to come back out and re-measure my sliding glass door. When I told the installer the measurements had already been taken and that my door was supposed to have been ordered already the installer asked if I had made a deposit when I called two weeks ago. I told him I had not then he rudely informed me that if I had not made a deposit then they wouldn't have ordered my glass. OK, how the heck am I supposed to know they needed to take a deposit? The woman I spoke to never mentioned it and she said they were going to order the glass. So not only did Hale not order my glass they lost the measurements for the door and according to them somehow this is all my fault because I didn't make a deposit that I never knew I had to make. Nobody apologized for any of this and in fact all of this going wrong was somehow pinned on me.....unbelievable. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
