Well I wandered into this little place on a cold Monday night. It maybe easy to miss on the outside because its not clustered in the main section of W 25th in Ohio City flanking the WSM. But this place is definitely worth checking into. The Yelp reviews are right! The inside of Porco is really clean and cute kitschy - the walls are adorned with various tiki glasses. I started off with the Lugh which was nice and flavorful but not overly sweet. It is based with their passionfruit mix which is excellent, not the processed syrups that u find in most bars. Then I followed up with the heart of darkness because I just liked the name of the drink lol. But I enjoyed the drink just as much if not more than the name. I forget the name of the drink my companion ordered but it was smokey and bubbly and quite delicious. Next they followed up with the Mai tai which is one of the best I have ever had. To re-up for the next part of the evening we each got an order of tacos - which comes with 3 tacos; 1 pulled pork, 1 chorizo, and 1 barbacoa. All the tacos were delicious, i think the barbacoa was my favorite. Served authentic style dbl soft corn shell with lime on the side. Really fresh and flavorful and reasonably priced! Next we completed the evening with a mead flight which was quite delightful. Basically like a honey wine. This is the perfect time of year for it. Last but not least, the bartender, Shawn, was great. He didnt mind answering questions and telling us about the various drinks available. Additionally, he is quite entertaining as well. They are planning to open a patio next year which I am already looking forward to. If you are looking for a mini vacation I suggest u check out Porco. its like being on vacation in a resort town until that cold air hits u on the walk back to your car.
