| - This was our first time here, this past sunday (ok, the weekend before the closing weekend in September). It was Family Fun day. This was the next to the last weekend of operation for the year (time was 11-6 pm).
Strict rules (check out the FAQ's on the website, for full details)- maybe a little less so, towards the end of the season? I wanted to read up on it though so we'd have a stress-free time here (Yeah, I'm the one always reading the manuals...).
Parking is $5.00.
Line: they check your bags. Parents of toddler children could bring in one drink and one quart sized baggie of snacks. Also, coolers with factory-sealed water bottles were allowed (the only exception to the "No Outside Food Or Drink Allowed.") Many choices for lunch, so don't worry about that.
Posted signs- "Do not bother the lifeguards", and Sunset Station buffet promotion for guests, show receipt.
Main Bathrooms: (womens) also has a locker room section (right) opposite the bathrooms stalls (left). Family Bathrooms were all in use: advised for children over the age of 3 to use these ones. Other bathrooms were easily accessible.
Weight limit: 260 lbs, Some rides have a minimum and maximum weight limit.
NOTE: Some rides don't have specified "No single riders", so hubby got all the way up there, just to find out that he couldn't ride it.
Choices for dining: Dole whip, Dippin' dots, Pretzels ($3.99), Nachos ($4.75), etc.
You could also get your hand stamped and eat at the outside picnic tables (say, if you had food stored in a cooler in your car, don't forget the ice blocks).
Single bottled water: $3.00. Some days had Promos, like this day, was a BBQ one, ticket was $29.99 but the BBQ meal was included (A good deal!).
Lazy River- inner tubes were single and double, relaxing and fun at the same time, if that makes sense. Vests are available for the little ones, too.
Wave Pool- this was a huge area, so relaxing, when you brought the inner tube, which we did after we got the idea from other people. I think that there was a glitch because we hung out here for a bit and nothing, except a short snooze under the sun; it was nice, relaxing.
The Kids Area- 8 or 9 slides on the front side, with two side buckets for dunking unsuspecting people, like me, hahaha, and one twisty enclosed slide on the back end. I really liked this part as this was a really good size, and fun for the kids, and the pool part was shallow (unlike the W & W one). There were shaded areas, too, so, that was nice. This Kids area easily edged out the other water park, hands down.
The overall decor was fun and Hawaii-like (surf culture, especially vintage 1950s, 1960s vibe) with hibiscus floral print everywhere and the use of bright colors was pleasing, too. The music was fun, too (all surf style type).
We counted 8 rides, which seems small, and there was little room for expansion, from what we could observe, only saw one area for potential.
We had a great time, it was later in the season, so it didn't get crowded until after lunch time. Our little guy got all pouty when we told him it was time to leave. We were there from open to close. (We had leftovers waiting for us at home for dinner, which, was oh-so-yummy after a full day at the water park.) Getting out of the parking lot didn't seem too bad, either.
