| - You don't have to be a geek to enjoy your time at CES, you just have to love gadgets.
This year (2017), marks the 50th celebration of CES. I was told more than 170,000 from all over the world came. Exhibitors showcased their latest and greatest innovation. If you've never been to CES, I recommend you come at least once. You will be amazed. You will see all the latest innovation including robots (artificial intelligence) that will make our lives that much easier.
I'd also like to give a round of applause for the awesome people involved behind the scenes for making this year's experience at CES seamless. Special thanks to the Las Vegas Convention Center staff and especially to our very own "Rosie" for her exemplary job for taking such great care of us all week. Huge applause to UBER drivers for their hard work. Thank you coach bus drivers for picking our entire huge team, and dropping us all back with great comfort and style.
With that said.... I can't help but think how far we've arrived with technology. With the invention of the Internet, most of us today are now connected globally. Speaking off, do you remember the days when touch screen was the next big thing? It was a big hit. Now, it's all about voice recognition. Hard to imagine we even have cars that can now drive us to the grocery store. So then one has to ask, "Have we become a lazier society?" Have we become less personable and more impatient as we emerge from our younger years glued to some sort of personal devices like computers, tablets or smartphones? Has technology fostered a culture of instant gratification such as "I want it now?" That may depend on who you ask. But one thing for sure, as we evolve in the ever changing technological world, humans have always been adaptable and maleable; more so than we care to think!
So on the final thoughts (pondering scratching chin...), I believe technology can assist us to become a more respectful society. A much more happier and healthier society because we will have all the analytics to guide us to make consciences choices. Artifical Intelligence will simplify our lives so that we can spend more quality time with our friends and family. Ultimately, that is the goal.
But I can't help but think, are we eventually going to loose what makes us uniquely human in the process of automation? What are your thoughts?
Cheers!
