  • I just have to say- customer service is really important to me. 2 out of the 3 people who were working here today were great. But man, that other one. My sister and I walked in, and we saw a porcelain Chinese pot well above our heads on a shelf. My sister happens to have been looking for an antique pot for a while, so I asked how much it cost. This one woman said, "It's expensive." And I said, "Oh, it is? Like how much?," thinking that she was just making small talk. She replies, "I don't know, like $800, they're Really expensive," again. Her saying that a second time was enough for me to finally say, "Okay, well we do just fine for ourselves thanks...." It was just SO weird and awkward, I assume maybe because we both look young & were dressed down? But we're both in our 40s, and maybe she shouldn't assume that somebody in a t-shirt is like, sooo totally poor. It was so bizarre, and if she had said it just once I could think it was just word vomit, but she deliberately said it twice with emphasis. My sister ended up spending $200 there, and $500 at another antique store around the corner on Mayfield that had a far better selection so we're not exactly cheap bastards (who would go into an antique store Not expecting to spend some money?!). I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about this place because the other two employees were nothing but pleasant. But that initial interaction just really put me off.
