| - Based on prior reviews, I was reluctant about this skilled nursing facility. I was admitted in pain from the hospital (pain can definitely cloud judgment) on a cold, windy night. The next morning - a sunny day with hot air balloons outside my window - a steady stream of care givers (cnas, charge nurse, wound care, physical therapy, housekeeping, social services, etc.) descended upon me and provided excellent care.
I believe individual attitude is necessary when we find ourselves outside our safe, serene, home environments and in a place foreign and unfamiliar to us. My thankfulness and gratefulness to those there to assist me proved beneficial. Perhaps a little kindness from the patient and their respective families can make a difference in the eyes of those providing attentive care?
To be fair, the lower level is for temporary rehab and it is the only floor I experienced. (I believe the top 2 floors are for memory and long-term care.) The physical therapists were wonderful - each one made the experience fun while providing necessary support. Again, my cooperation was totally necessary to achieve the necessary goal.
I had no complaints whatsoever - adjusted MY attitude each day to remember I was at a place I deemed my expansion bridge from hospital to home. I feel I made friends of several staff there who demonstrated compassion and a willingness to go the "extra mile" to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I give this facility a definite thumbs up!
