| - I wholeheartedly recommend Cave Creek Montessori. If I listed all my reasons, this would be a 5 page review filled with positivity and gratitude detailing how they lovingly fulfill our family's needs. The owners and staff are experienced, open minded, and accommodating. We happily commute 20 miles each way every day (with many other adequate options much closer to our home) because this is the best school for our daughter.
The most important and obvious reason for my love of CCM is that our 3 year old has been beautifully blossoming while attending school over the past year and 3 months. She is excited to go to school every day, exuberantly talks about her teachers and friends, and doesn't want to leave at the end of the day. This is coming from a child who is still shy but used to cling to me and bury her face in my shoulder whenever another person initiated a conversation with her. She is gaining confidence and learning a tremendous amount through the Montessori "hands-on" methodology and through her teachers' encouragement to exert her independence. As a result of being in this environment five days per week, I have noticed a remarkable difference in her peer-to-peer and inter-generational social skills, mental determination and physical ability to do things for herself, interest and success in potty training, desire to try new foods... not to mention the litany of adorable songs and dances she teaches us at home.
Every staff member with whom I have interacted epitomizes what parents want for their children: dedicated, experienced, nurturing people who have consciously chosen to be here because they truly love young children and have the inner calm to do so effectively. The toddler room teachers and aides are phenomenal with the toddlers. They treat each child - and parent - with respect and love. They invite parental communication, and they also clearly light the love of learning in each child. The teachers and assistants are actively engaged with the "friends" all day long. They are creative, flexible, and sensitive to individual needs and also joyfully and patiently guide the classroom full of little ones. They make it look so easy and fun!
Roy and Kathy, the owners, are honest, humble, reasonable, open minded people who obviously love children. This is the third Montessori school our family has attended (I wish it was the first!!). I have been very impressed with their open door policy and eagerness to engage with whole families. I do not feel any inkling of condescension or judgment toward parents (as I did at other schools for not fully embracing all Montessori methods at home). They truly appreciate parental feedback and honest communication. Unlike other schools we had experience with, I feel warmly welcome and appreciated as a member of the school family, just as I am. This is how parents should feel when bringing their precious children to school.
I am so impressed with Roy and Kathy's effectiveness and pragmatism. They have found a balance of providing a quality Montessori experience with the understanding that after leaving their program most alumni will attend non-Montessori elementary schools. I recently learned that they actually visit local elementary schools every year to make sure their students are adequately prepared for their subsequent education. They really care about the long term well being of their students.
