| - The Botanical Emporium completely saved my son's Homecoming! We ordered his girlfriend's corsage and his boutonniere from a different South Hills florist. My son had a very specific idea for the corsage...he bought a silver cuff bracelet at a jewelry store and asked the florist to weave some orchids and leaves into the bracelet, along with a few crystals. He wanted it to be more like a piece of jewelry than a big bouquet on her wrist. We gave them a picture, and they said it would not be a problem. I picked up the corsage and boutonniere on the day of the dance. The orchids were old, flimsy, and brown on the edges. I asked about the browning and was told that would go away when they opened more. And there were no crystals. There was a steady line of customers, and I could tell the staff was annoyed that I was taking time to ask about the corsage. I should have asked to talk with a manager about my concerns and see if they could fix it...but gave into perceived pressure to keep things moving. When we had time to take it out of the box and look more closely, you could see one side of it was completely bare and undone. By this time, the florist was closed. I called Botanical Emporium to see what they could do to fix it. They were very busy with 2 weddings. I asked if I could just buy some materials there and add them ourselves...and they agreed. But when we got there, the owner took time herself to fix it...and not just a quick fix...she added some beautiful orchids, crystals, and greens...it turned out BEAUTIFULLY!! And she proceeded to spruce up his boutonniere, replace the tacky grass and bow (in/on the corsage box) with much more elegant options, and gave us a new bag for the boutonniere!!! These may seem like small things, but they made a lovely presentation!! And I could see the relief wash over my son's face. He was SO happy with everything...and felt really confident when putting the corsage on his girlfriend's wrist. And, by the way, she charged us a very reasonable amount for all that she did! So grateful she was willing to help us, and the quality exceeded our expectations! We will absolutely go back to Botanical Emporium for his next dance!
