  • Been wanting to come in here, forever. Forever does come to an end, apparently. Now I am not going to repeat what everyone else has written because it's true. They have a little bit of everything in this small store, but it's the things you'll pretty much need to get your Japan-on. Storytime! I spent some years living in Okinawa. Which meant I spent many years hanging out with my parents very longtime Japanese friends. My dad was stationed in Okinawa before I was born, and this couple who were bullfighters (what an exhilarating thing to watch if you ever get the chance) were once their neighbors. Long story short...my dad got sent back to Japan and instantly reunited with them. This reunion became weekends driving to hang out with them. We called the husband papasan. Anyway, papasan simply asked for budweiser and in trade, pops would get Orion. Needless to say, Orion beer was like family. Lol. Obviously, I didn't drink it but I knew what Orion was to the Okinawan culture. One day over sushi, cough cough at yummys to be exact...the husband noticed they served Orion. He never heard of it and he's a sucker for trying new things. Instantly, he was in love. Instantly, childhood memories emerged to realizing wholly crap...I'm old enough to drink this! We aren't beer connoisseurs. So beer folks, don't be side-eyeing me when I say this beer is awesome! If you like light, crisp, mild tasting beer...this is it for you! But this isn't a review about Orion. This market gets 5 stars for carrying everything I need for a Nippon night, and the fact that our search for a bottle of Orion has ended! If you have gout...I'd say this beer is certainly gout friendly. Lol. I didn't verbally get greeted right away as I entered, but I payed no mind because I just wanted to venture in. Going deeper into the store (isn't deep at all) the lady arranging the freezer gave me a smile. By the time I was ready to pay, I stood for a bit until a young fellow walked over like magic from the back and took care of me. He was very nice and asked if I have a stamp card. Normally, my stamp cards are from sushi and boba stops, but at a store? Coooool! Get a stamp for ever 10 dollars spent, then once you fill it up...you get ten dollars off. As my wallet isn't next to me I'm failing on letting you know how much until that 10 dollars off, but from first looking at the card...you gotta spend quite a bit. Since it is an Asian store, and you're trying to have a Nippon night...it won't be too hard to get that card filled. Highly recommend for your Japanese needs. Amazingly, it is very stroller friendly even though the store isn't big. That contributes to the 5 star rating because we all know Asian stores will pack their store to the point your shopping cart is going to need some good power steering. Dang, I tried making this review short. Hahaha! Enjoy!
