  • I attempted to eat here after getting the best Ham and Cheese sandwich ever at The Louvre while on vacation. I love bread and thought this would be the place for the best. WRONG! Arrived at 7:30 on Friday and ordered drinks. My Stella was skunkie. When we ordered I wanted the Quiche Loraine, but they were out. The waiter suggested the Panini over the Parisian and a salad. The wife ordered the Weekend special only to find they were out of that too? It's the Weekend special on Friday! She settled on salad and Beef Borguignon. The salad was wilted and the dressing was so mild it was hard to tell what it was. My best guess was a quarter-teaspoon of Grey Poupon and 2 oz. of olive oil. Soon my sandwich arrived and it was a slice of lunch-meat and a half slice of Swiss on a grocery store sesame-seed hamburger bun. At that point I was done, I sent it back and asked for the bill. The Chef / Owner had the nerve to come out and ask what was wrong with my sandwich! No joke, a grocery store hamburger bun, smashed flat in a Panini iron, and he is wondering why i didn't want it? This is a bakery, Right? This is the first time I have ever written a review. This is the first time I have been so moved to write one. The sweets may be good here but why was there no fresh bread? What self-respecting Frenchman would serve a Panini on a grocery store bun? I would have given a half a star if I could!
