There are several places we hit up for dinner on Brookline Blvd but today we were looking for a place to have breakfast. I saw that this cafe had 4 stars we decided to check it out. The best way for me to describe the experience was to say that it was like having breakfast at you grandma's. The grandma that never remodeled or cleaned her house since 1960. UGH.
It is a tiny place. The wall paper is literally falling off the walls. The placemats and tablecloths were definitely original from when this place opened many years ago. I think the paint was also original.
The lady that was there could barely walk. We had to get our own menus which wasn't that big of a deal done they were within reach. Yep, the place is that small. I ordered my breakfast choice only to be told they didn't have my choice. I went with my second choice-2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, home fries, and toast. The eggs were over cooked. They were brown instead of yellow. The potatoes were almost cooked . . . almost. The toast was very thinly sliced Italian bread. It was more like a cracker than toast. The eggs and potatoes had no seasoning-not even salt or pepper.
So Been There Done That and no t-shirt needed.
