| - I liked this gym a lot when I lived in Cleveland. I was a regular like 4-5 times a week, especially after the remodel of what - 2004/05?
Great brand new equipment. Rows and rows of precor ellipticals, a pretty good group exercise schedule, a spinning room, and plenty of weight machines and free weights. Locker rooms were clean, and the sauna was nice and hot. The cardio theater was a creative idea, too. They play movies on a big screen in a dark room with a bunch of cardio equipment. Kinda like working out at the movie theater!
They also attempted having some nice extras, but never quite got it right. They had smoothies at the customer service counter, but it wasn't really equipped for it, so everything was made from powders and stuff. Blech. I liked the private dance room and yoga room ideas, but I thought it was super lame that you had to pay A LOT extra for those classes. It was cool, also, to have a "ladies only" room with a few pieces of machinery, but it was just stocked with all the reject "misfit toys" from before they remodeled. I also found Max, the manager, to have been a bit of a jerk on several occasions.
Still, this is a decent gym with some cool extras, and worth a membership. I don't know how it's holding up now that's it's 2007, but I imagine it's still up to par.
