The one day we didn't have the kids, my husband and I thought that we could go to my favourite place for a cozy coffee break with goodies. NOT what I was expecting..
I went to Nadege on Dec 28th. I ordered 3 mini croissants and 6 Caneles...I also ordered 2 americanos. I noticed that the place was busy, but not more than usual. I waited by the barista, and my husband sat across from the cash register. As I was waiting, the barista made all of the drinks for all of those who had ordered long after me. He didn't even acknowledge me, though he did look at me a few times. He didn't seem to care that I was waiting for a long time. I went to the cashier and asked for my coffees. they said "we didn't know where you were and we had the coffees waiting for you"...yeah right. I watched the barista make every single drink for everyone else. I asked for a refund, and I was snickered at. This wasn't the only time I was treated like this. I was the only one waiting to be served, and the server looked right past me and greeted the next person who walked through the door. I was with my 3 kids..pretty hard to miss. My 5 year old even asked why she ignored us and was disappointed that he didn't get his treats I promised him. Well, so much for independent businesses I love to support. My husband and I moved on to Starbucks and happily gave them my refunded cash. My barista chatted with me while she happily made my americanos. We Sat THERE for our cozy coffee break.
