| - My boyfriend and I decided to do a little brewery hopping last night and started off at Desert Eagle. We had never adventured in Mesa, and the location seemed great, as it was right downtown!
As for the beer, we did the regular flight ($8.00) as well as the premium flight ($10.00). We added the Buzz Bomb IPA to the regular flight, and this was by far our favorite that we had out of all 10 we sampled. We are IPA lovers though, and this was a pretty good one. The other four on the regular flight were good, but pretty standard beer choices.
On the premium flight, we tried the Imperial Adler, Pomegranate Wheat, Grapefruit Session White IPA, Black Talon Russian Imperial Stout, and Barrel Aged Porter. My favorite was the Grapefruit White IPA - refreshing and tart. The BF enjoyed the Barrel Aged Porter. Our least favorite of the day was the Imperial Adler - with such a strong ABV, the alcohol outweighed the flavor of the beer, but this is pretty standard for this type of beer.
We also had the hummus plate. Nothing extraordinary, but it was good hummus to keep our stomachs full while we sampled the beer.
Overall, a pretty okay brewery and a laid-back vibe. You could tell there were quite a few "regulars" there and I'm sure it would have even gotten a bit busier if we would have stayed for the live music last night. Check it out if you're in the area!
