| - We stayed here in September 2015. Very old building but adds character. No elevator in the hotel and lots of stairs from the street.
We arrived late, so our original room was not available. We received a free upgrade to "the Loft" which is a pretty cool room. It has four double beds, large bathroom, wall mounted flat screen TV, small older table and chairs, and plenty of storage. The room also has its own spiral staircase. The room is a little outdated and has places that are not painted such as trim and walls by staircase. I forgot about these details within about 30 minutes because it is a very comfortable room.
Not the cleanest hotel around and the carpets look dingy from dust as I do not think this particular room is rented often.
Beds are VERY comfortable. Tons of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, towels, face cloths... you name it.
Breakfast is included in the very reasonable price and is served downstairs in the separate restaurant. The server is really friendly and greets everyone who walks in. This place actually has a hot breakfast including fresh scrambled eggs, really good sausages, toast, and hash browns.
At checkout we were saying what a great stay to the guy at the front desk. He replied "Well don't expect that room. That room goes for twice as much as you paid". First of all, they gave our room away. Second, we did not say that we would always expect that room if we came back. Third of all, it was a very unpleasant final communication to end otherwise a great stay.
