  • Lessor beware. This place is pretty ghetto, especially for the neighborhood it's in. They are renovating but some things they just can't fix. For starters, the smell. My apartment had this weird smell I couldn't get rid of no matter what. I cleaned, got candles, plug-ins, shampooed the carpet... Nothing helped. I hope you don't have friends because there's nowhere for them to park if they come over. They barely have enough spaces for the people who live there. Their new plan removes some parking, so it's only going to get better. For the year I lived here I had the joy of being able to hear my downstairs neighbor enjoy his own company, if you know what I mean. The walls are that thin. He had a set schedule that usually started around 4am every day. When he was finished, he then liked to turn up sports center or music so loud I could make out the words. I'd call the "safety patrol" (whom I never actually saw) but it was faster to climb out of bed and stomp on the floor until he turned it down. I complained to the office but they laughed at me. It was super helpful. Other reviewers are spot on, you can hear everything going on outside. My favorite was the lady with her belly falling out from under her shirt having a phone conversation that included a slew of profanity, I could hear her over my tv. I finally got a loud fan so I could sleep through it. According to their policy they fine you for leaving your trash by the door too long, but that didn't seem to affect my neighbors leaving their stinky over flowing cans out all day for the nightly pickup. When you move out they go 007 on your apartment, going so far as to pull up the carpet looking for stains as well as black lighting. No amount of cleaning you do will be good enough to not be charged. They will even email you the pictures if you ask (I did). Don't believe the office staff when they tell you "as long as you make an honest effort to clean you'll be alright!" I've never been charged after moving out of an apartment, even other Mark Taylor properties, but this place has some standards. Just not when it actually matters for their residents.
