| - All the stars for this sweet little coffee shop in downtown Phoenix. Located off 7th street in a newly renovated old bungalow. I love how the business owner turned this into a fixer upper opportunity. The exterior is super cute, with an inviting front porch offering some outside seating. Once through the front door it opens up into a nice area with high ceilings, pretty wood beams and lots of light. It's very fresh, clean and comfortable for hanging out, compliments of their free wifi. After chatting with their friendly manager, it was obvious he really knows his coffee beans. I also found out that they have their own coffee roaster where the beans are roasted in small batches on site. They also make their own chai which is great for the times I'm after a good dirty chai.
I also give Street Coffee the edge for their fresh baked goods, with cookies and scones provided by Happy Hope Bakery. If you see the chocolate chip cookies - you must try! An incredible cookie, served to me still warm. I could tell it was made with really high quality ingredients. And because I always have to further investigate a really good chocolate chip cookie, the baker uses Jacques Torres chocolate from NYC for her cookies! And that is some special chocolate for those who might not know. I also tried two scones because of my success with the cookie. One matcha scone and one chocolate chip scone. The texture alone made these the best scones ever. Fresh, not dry at all (and I've had many a dried-out scone), tender, and perfect crisp on the outside. Again, quality ingredients here.
So excited about this place, what a great addition to the local Phoenix coffee scene.
