| - I'm not usually a mani-pedi kind of girl: my feet are an ongoing disaster (runner's feet), and the part of my job that involves using hand sanitizer once every hour (if not more) leads to the loss of nail polish in less than 1 shift. It wasn't until this spring when I was forced to take an activity and work break that led me to The 10 Spot on a fairly regular basis.
The Goods:
- The Queen West location is perfect, especially for me: no more than 10 minutes from my home, and easily accessible on an okay streetcar line for the rest of the world. The Queen East location is a little further out than most of Leslieville proper, but again, on the streetcar (which, at this point in time, isn't really happening, but that state of affairs will only last until October... allegedly).
- The decor is rather modern and clean, and the pedicure benches are wonderfully comfy.
- Service is pleasant, though sometimes much more personable than other times; the quality has a good baseline, but again, there is some inconsistency. For example, over the course of the last 4 months, I've had 2 french pedicures, both of which have been quite different. How many ways are there to paint white lines on toes? That said, as I reincoporate activity back into my almost daily life, I've noticed that the colour tends to stay on my toes for 3-4 weeks! In my view, that's amazing value!
- The prices for manicures and pedicures are reasonable in my view, though the waxing and facial prices seem a little to dear for me; that said, I may have been spoilt by my usual esthetician.
- I am a big fan of the online booking; it makes my 3am realization that I have to make things fanciful a possibility!
I'm somewhat conflicted giving them 4 stars; again, another "sitch" where I'm really meaning 3.5. Will I be back, even in the winter months? Yessum, but likely more special-occasion related.
