  • We have been going to Horizon for almost a year and to say we are satisfied with the care our pets receive and have received is an understatement. We discovered Horizon through Angie's List and, although they're in Scottsdale and we are in Peoria, they're well worth the trip. We came to Horizon because we had a strong suspicion that our former vet had misdiagnosed our elderly cat's issues, (which was confirmed both by our former out-of-state vet and Horizon,) and that our former vet was more interested in racking up expensive and unnecessary office visits than optimizing our cat's health. Dr. Glover is our vet, and she has been spectacular in treating our pets, all of whom have improved markedly under her care. (Our dog, who had metastasized cancer, diagnosed over a year earlier, unfortunately died, but Dr. Glover was able to recommend a very compassionate service that came to our house to finally relieve her of her pain.) Dr. Glover is patient, understanding and compassionate, while also being professional and knowledgeable. (I realize these attributes are not necessarily mutually exclusive.) As a relevant aside, we had an emergency in which one of our cats was dying and, although we were already on our way to Horizon, Dr. Glover called to recommend that we go straight to an emergency hospital, another example of her and Horizon putting our pet's welfare ahead of monetary gain. Let me add that our cat survived and is doing well due to the care he received at Horizon. Moreover, when we came in with our cat, we were immediately ushered into an exam room, with no waiting in the lobby and the vet coming in immediately. (Dr. Glover was already booked, but made time to ask about our cat, who was immediately given oxygen and then put into an oxygen cage.) Oh, and the cat the former vet was using to try to milk extra visits out of us? He's almost one year from being at the point of death due to our former vet's misdiagnosis and mistreatment of his issues. I recommend Horizon with absolutely no caveats whatsoever.
