  • Hair cuts, color, facial massage, facials and on and on and on. This place has it all. This review is indicative of both my experience a few months ago with a facial & yesterday for a haircut. Like other reviewers have said, this place is run by instructors and students. If you aren't a patient person and have very particular taste, this place is probably not going to be your cup of tea. But, if you're down to earth, willing to experiment & most importantly let someone learn without reprimanding them - then this is the one! For my haircut, the procedure was simple. I called up a little after they opened yesterday, and I'm SO THANKFUL they were able to fit me in! **SAME DAY APPOINTMENTS CAN HAPPEN!** I always put off my haircuts which is why this was great for me...or else I might have left to do this another day. Sierra was the elegant girl who took care of my needs (cutting 7" -- all dead dead dead) & she did so without questioning why. We had a great conversation throughout my 1 hour cut. Pretty much all haircuts come with a shampoo, an optional back/neck massage (hey! hey!) and hand massage. Talk about a SWEET deal for $19! Aveda definitely teaches their students to be courteous and considerate...the atmosphere inside of the salon is great. The hair department is totally solo from the massage side...which is why there is background music playing (another plus for me!). There is also an Aveda product shop outside and all products that are used by the students are displayed...so you know exactly what products and ingredients are being placed in your hair and if you like, you buy! PS. I've tried to ask about TIPPING twice -- and they don't accept tips. So please be friendly to the person assisting you! No one becomes an expert in a day, and they are ALL great students trying to become better. Also, 20% off if you check in through YELP. #holla
