  • This review is certainly a better story than my last. I needed a water heater and I went to Home Depot because after my last experience at Lowe's (see prior review) I decided that Home Depot would be my go to place. Home Depot's water heaters were priced competitively with other places. When I asked about getting it installed, they quoted me $800! Now the water heater was about 359. So I am supposed to pay over two times the amount for installation. They rationalized this by saying that they use the best installer---Parker Brothers. I said to myself, so basically I am paying for the continuous TV commercials that Parker Brothers has on. I asked if they would do it for less. The manager said that is their price. Went to Lowe's and decided to give them a shot. Got the water heater for $5 more than Home Depot. OK. Asked about installation. $289 for installation plus the cost of some parts. Holy Guacamole. I hit the jackpot. I bought the heater, paid for the install and THE NEXT DAY the water heater was installed!!!! I can't give Lowe's enough kudos for this. Installation price was almost 2 thirds lower than Home Depot. I guess I can't go HOME (depot) again! Lowe's thanks for the great service and to Eric S. in the plumbing installation department for being so efficient and making it all happen.
