We were at the Clinic in the morning, tired, not really hungry but looking for breakfast and maybe some coffee. We walked in to this place which is in a hospital building and were faced with so many odd choices, we stopped in our tracks and watched the regulars operate.
If you want a breakfast sandwich you either grab one from under the heat lamp or you get a pencil and a fill out some paperwork on the sandwich you want. There is no line, you just fill out the form, hand it to someone and they eventually give you a sandwich. I'm not kidding. There really is paperwork to fill out for a sandwich.
Maybe this is the way all au bon pains work and everyone else has come to terms with it, but at 7:30 in the morning I couldn't handle it. Also, there is no organization to the place and you just sort of wander and hope to find what you want. The chocolate croissant is an excellent fallback position if you choke on the paperwork and just grab something. It was great.... but overpriced.
