I played this course yesterday with slight hesitation. I was at another course and was talking to these ppl I met and they told me not to play the Raven. They said so many bad things about it but I played it anyway.
I'm so glad that I did. The course was in excellent condition. The staff were very welcoming and their practice facilities(bunkers, putting/chipping area as well as driving range) were great.
The course itself, very nice. Well manicured fairways no blind shots. Strategically placed bunkers for your enjoyment, good condition. Did not play from the tips, played from silver which was slightly over 6700 yards. No need to hit driver off the tee all the time.. The greens rolled true, had a hard time gauging its speed but after awhile it was fine. Ball positioning is important, unless you like the challenge of flying your approach shots over bunkers. Few water holes, not a real issue here.
Of course one must enjoy the scenery as you go to your ball. It's a desert course BUT, once you're done with the first hole, you couldn't tell you were in the desert. You'll know what I mean when you play there. I will definitely play here again. Idk where those ppl got the notion that this was a bad course. Hope this helps.
