  • I have had a top notch experience at this hospital. I have been admitted twice as a patient in the past couple months & appreciated the level of care I received both times. Both times, I was hospitalized for bowel obstructions - the first I received non-surgical care which resolved the issue. The 2nd did require surgical intervention. I honestly feel I may have avoided surgical intervention had I followed up w/the GI team associated w/the hospital (who I will now switch my care over to). My first stay was 3 days, 2 nights. I was a grumpy patient but the nurses persisted in their kindness & were all super friendly & professional. Yes, the doctors are not "on call" to only you as a patient & sometimes it does take them some time to come see you - but when they do they are more than willing to spend more than adequate time with you, explaining medical care, their advice & answering your questions. My 2nd stay lasted 9 days. I am beyond pleased at the level of care I received - the nurses & all staff have really exceeded any expectations I could have had. I did require surgical intervention & the nurse who prepped me to go down to the OR, Renee was amazing. My family was unable to be with me before the surgery, & Renee helped tremendously to mentally & emotionally ease me into the OR. My first day of recovery my nurse Ellen was truly exceptional & very attentive to my needs while motivating me towards the first steps of recovery. While I have not had the same day & night nurses I really feel like all of them have been personable yet professional & have no complaints in any of the 9-10 nurses that I saw. Sometimes you do have to wait a little, but they are also taking care of probably 4 other patients at the same time & every time a patient asks for a new intervention/medication that does require approval through the doctor. I really appreciated the cheerfulness of my nurses Sara & Christin! While I can't say I "enjoyed" my stay here (because who really likes being in a hospital!), I definitely did not mind it! Thank you so much to each nurse who serviced me, who took the time to care for me -each of you go above & beyond on a daily basis & it is appreciated. I would also like to say thank you to my surgeon, Dr. Cornejo. Every interaction I had with her as well I was very impressed & pleased with her level of expertise. I hope I don't have to come back for care for a long time but if I do need to, I would not choose any other hospital to receive care at!
