Dr Bady is very cold and distant. His staff was as well. I had shattered two discs in my lower back and was looking for relief for the pain that radiated down my legs.
I don't have a perfect body, a perfect build or a perfect BMI. He let me know he found this unacceptable. He did agree to go through my back, drill a hole in my vertebrae and clean the shattered disc out of my spinal canal.
He was proud of himself for the job he did. I remember just barely coming to and he asked me with enthusiasm, "Don't you just love me?" and I told him no. He didn't followup with me in the hospital .. even though my O2 levels dropped to 58 the next day. After 3 days in the hospital, I followed up with him and he was cold and arrogant.
5 years years of physical therapy and still very little relief. I wish he'd been honest about his skill set and not cut into me at all.
My physical therapist was surprised Dr Bady had worked on me at all. Rumor has it that Dr Bady doesn't work on anyone that is overweight, has complications (diabetes, lupus.. etc) or is in anyway not the perfect patient.
This was many years ago. I have a spinal surgeon that is terrific now. I'd not recommend Dr. Bady to anyone even though he was fairly new to the field at the time (something I also wish I'd known)
