Approximately a week and a half before leaving for a weekend in Vegas, I contacted Guided Vegas Tours through its website's reservation inquiry about doing the Mini Taste of the Strip Walking Tour. I got a somewhat quick response that space was available on our second choice date and to respond if that's what we wanted. I did, but two days went by and I'd still not gotten a confirmation. I finally called and left a message, which prompted an email confirmation.
According to the confirmation, we were to meet "on top of the pedestrian bridge over Las Vegas Blvd. between the Venetian and the Mirage/Treasure Island" at 7:30. It also said, "we request 24 hours advance notice for tour rescheduling or cancellation."
We arrived at 7:20 and waited until 7:40 and nobody from Guided Vegas Tours showed up. No message was left on my cell phone and no email was sent cancelling the tour. Upon arriving home I replied to my confirmation email asking for some explanation why nobody showed up nor notified us that the tour was cancelled. Nearly two days have passed and they've not responded.
If you are like me, this type of thing is unacceptable when you only have a few days in Las Vegas. By the time 7:45 rolls around, it's difficult to book some other show or make other arrangements for the evening. But to make our situation worse, my boyfriend has cancer, and I was trying to plan a special weekend before he goes back into the hospital for a month. He was unfortunately feeling rather ill just before we left our room in the Rio, but I took their cancellation request seriously and schlepped over to the Strip--only to stand around for NOTHING. And they cannot even bother to apologize.
