Reading others' reviews, I was stoked to bag this hike while staying here in Arizona. I frequently hike in So Cal, sometimes 3 trails a week. So I'm in fair physical shape. This information is so others reading this will self-evaluate theimselves. I watched people of varying age and agility conquer this challenging trail.Challenging because of the amount of rock scrambling and heaving up onto boulder faces at certain spots along the trail.
Yes, this trail is very fun and the views are totally worth enduring the steep sections and sketchy edges along the way. When I summited this morning, there were at least 20 people atop, some arriving fom Echo canyon, and others I trekked along with. It was a cool partly clouded morning but we were all sweating.
I love a good workout. And throw in beautiful wild flowers and scenery and pleasant hikers, its what makes for a fantastic rewarding Sunday.
There are no toilets, very few parking spots, and a long hike just to the trailhead.
