  • Many Yelpers have already commented on the same problems I had visiting Dr. Hunt, but I'll elaborate on my personal experience to provide some further insight. I thoroughly research the background of every doctor I visit. Call me paranoid, but considering that I have to expose the most private parts of my body to this stranger, I like to do my due diligence and make sure his/her credentials are legit. Hats off to Dr. Hunt, she has what I'd consider a golden resume. It's stacked. And she seemed plenty nice on the picture on her website. Even though I could not get an appointment for another 3 months, I opted to wait. I'd had a history of traumatizing wellness exams, and I was sure I'd picked the right one this time. Boy, was I wrong. First of all, the wait. I had to wait nearly 3 months for an appointment as a new patient, and once I got there, I had to wait another 45 minutes to be taken in. Secondly, even after I asked her to be gentle, she more or less manhandled my private parts. I felt raw/sore after my exam, and I felt pain walking back to my car. I remember calling my now fiancĂ© about how upset I was. Thirdly, I felt rushed. She didn't encourage questions, and she seemed annoyed that she has to do some routine check-up when she's qualified to do complex, intricate surgeries. After my visit with Dr. Hunt, I came to understand that one's educational background is only one of many, many aspects that make someone a good doctor. I now believe that having a physician that makes me feel comfortable, at ease, and cared for is what matters the most to me when it comes to choosing the right gynecologist. I have not gone back to see Dr. Hunt, but I hope she has since changed for the better so other women can benefit from the wealth of her medical expertise.
