| - This Italian restaurant was pleasant, and fairly decent by Arizona standards. The Pasta was properly cooked and the portions of meat and pasta were average. I've had far worse in this state. We ate here in 2014.
I've eaten at a number of Italian restaurants in the Phoenix Metro area, but have decided not to anymore. I grew up in the New York/New Jersey Metro area, and the quality of Italian restaurants in that part of the country, whether a famous place or a ma and pa hole in the wall, is absolutely outstanding. Arizona has quite a number of Italian eateries that impress people here, but to me, given where I grew up, it's just a disappointment. I love Arizona for a vast number of reasons, but Italian food is not one of them.
I suppose this statement may anger some people in Scottsdale, the West's most Eastern town, but it stands. I have had outstanding Italian food in the Phoenix metro area, but home cooked in people's homes, none of them chefs, and not all of them Italian.
