I've been to this parade at least 10 times in the 30 years I've lived here. Its always fun to smile and wave at the horseback riders or wagon passengers.
Candy is usually thrown out to the younger spectators, so be wary of the possibility it may sit in the bed of your truck if left undiscovered (found some months later in a cubby hole in the bed liner, ughh!).
We usually end up at the Denny's nearby for breakfast and then watch from the tailgate of the pickup. The weekend following this has the parada del sol rodeo at Westworld. If you've never been to a rodeo, then you may find it a little boring, but I grew up around it sooooo...Anyways, back to the parade.
Now, who doesn't like to see droves of kids with shovels following behind on "poop patrol"? Teaches them responsibility, I say.
