  • Handbag Express' handbags look pretty but are fairly substandard in quality. Out of 50 bags, at least 6 will be defective and you'll either have to "eat' them or sell them "as is". Defects can be broken and/or missing snaps, missing stones, bad zippers with some sewn backwards at the factory hence not cost effective to fix, wrinkles that won't come out of the fake leather in a very visible area, and many of them have an odor that keeps it on my shelf for weeks because customers eyes bug out with the overwhelming stank! I point out ALL defects to my customers and sell the bag at cost or below so I don't hv to deal with a return later. The ones I cannot sell really cut into my already low profit. Ahhh but we love selling handbags! And I suspect they put returned/defective bags right back on the floor unless it's glaring. I placed a $2,500 order at ASD and she said I'd have before 5 weeks. Wrong. She so lied to me. I held off on other orders b/c that was a large order for me and I wanted to have the funds when the bags were shipped. I pumped up all of my regular customers that I had the 'prettiest bags in the world" coming and to check back. I started calling HE at week 4 and they promised "next week". Week 5 no shipment. Called again. Week 6 no shipment Week 7 no shipment. Called again. Week 8 NO shipment. Week 9 or 10 came and i politely called to cancel the order. She didn't even apologize or show any concern. After I saw my local competitors had received their orders and I had not, I felt so let down and such a fool for telling my customers about my much anticipated shipment of bling handbags I will NEVER do that again thanks to HE. That girl totally fooled me at the show. And up to that point, I ordered at least $500-$700 per week on a regular basis for a good part of a year prior. I know I'm a small fish but apparently they do not value my business. Regarding shipping, it's my own fault for not checking each invoice but the 10% discount for orders over $500 is dubious. MAKE SURE YOU PRINT YOUR ORDER AS SOON AS YOU PLACE IT ALONG WITH THE ORDER NUMBER SO YOU CAN SEE "SHIPPING ESTIMATE" COMPARED TO WHAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY CHARGED ALONG WITH THE 10% DISCOUNT. This will take follow up on your end when you receive the shipment. They will refund you the 10% but then I suspect they jack up the price on the shipping. In other words, what is the difference in their estimated shipping compared to what you were actually charged? I used to order thousands of dollars worth of bags per month but now I rarely place orders b/c I know i'll be stuck with the defects. If I lived in Las Vegas area, I'd still buy their bags b/c I could inspect each on the spot. But what do you expect from a $20 handbag? It's a love/hate thing for those of us that buy and re-sell them. I found herstationhandbags.com has pretty bags too. But same bullcrap as far as quality.
