| - I have been a customer of Mardi Gras Costume Shop for well over a decade! First and foremost, they're a locally owned business. Therefore, all the more reason to support them.
I LOVE to dress up any time an occasion allows. Admittedly, some of their products are costly however when you compare them to online options, typically with shipping, you're paying about the same. Not to mention, I find most of the items are pretty decent quality. The staff are exceedingly personable and if you have a question or are looking for some ideas, definitely ask someone. I have found that most of the staff are very creative in coming up with ideas for things. They may also have thoughts on how to improvise on a costume. I have found they really will give you honest assistance and feedback.
They also have rental costumes if you aren't looking to buy. I have only ever rented one costume from them and it was very affordable for the entire weekend. I'm sure this varies depending on the costume. If you're like me and hope that you won't be caught wearing the same costume as another I'd recommend checking Mardi Gras out. It isn't like some of those other places that you pick something off the rack and pull it out of a bag, although, they do have a few of those types of items as well.
Special effects make like the pros? They've got it. Hats, wigs, props, they've probably got it or can help you find it. I'm glad they've stayed open this whole time because I think they're great! Season is nearing and I'm sure I'll be in multiple times over the next few months.
