| - I would never stay here again.... Where do I begin??
First of all no matter what they tell you, it is FAR from the strip. Way farther than most people would want to walk. Especially in 100 degree weather. So you have to take a shuttle, that stops running at 5 pm, or find some other way to get there.
Basically, everything about this hotel is geared towards trapping you there, making it difficult to leave, and then charging you as much as possible for as much as possible.
Our room was small, a little dirty and run down. It looked like it's seen its share of wild parties, i.e. stains on the rug, chips and scratches on the furniture. The maid service was a little sloppy and careless. The room had a desk, but with no chair to sit at it with, so I had to call the front desk and ask them to bring one so I could do things on my laptop. The bathroom had 2 sinks but no bathtub, just a shower stall that leaked all over the bathroom floor.
The pool was a real pain to deal with! It was a far walk from the room. One of the main things I like to do when I'm on vacation is hang out in the Jacuzzi. Since our room didn't have a bathtub, and I could not take a hot bath which is what I also like to do, I was looking forward to the Jacuzzi by the pool. So I went to the pool and the guy tells me there is only one jacuzzi operating today. I looked at it and it was nasty. There were about 15 trashy looking people hanging all around and it and in it. And honestly, it looked like a scene from a low budget gangster rap video. I wouldn't put my foot in that water if you paid me. I happened to find another jacuzzi that was kind of hidden in a corner, that was actually quite nice and had some cool decent people in it. But if I didn't stumble upon that on my own I would have never known it existed. The staff member didn't even mention it.
I always went to the pool in the late afternoon, and each day they suddenly announced that they are closing the pool early because they didn't have enough staff. So I got gypped out of pool/jacuzzi time each day!
Forget ever "chilling" by the pool. The music by the adult pool was almost as loud as a heavy metal concert, I'm not kidding!
The family pool had loud music too but not as loud. They also had sand in both pools, to make it seem like a beach. I just found that to be annoying because sand got everywhere and in everything just like at a beach, only this sand didn't seem very clean.
They do not allow any outside food or drinks or coolers into the hotel. I am very into healthy/ organic, high quality food. So when I drive to Vegas I always bring a cooler with some of that food in it so I don't have to eat 3 meals a day of hotel junk. Well, they don't allow that. They don't even have a fridge or microwave, or coffee maker in the room. You are forced to buy their way overpriced garbage instead.
They had some decent restaurants in the hotel, but most of what they had was way pricey. For instance, a breakfast omelette like you'd get at a Denny's was $16. And they do NOT have a buffet.
The worst part of my trip was that I got food poisoning after eating at the Culinary Dropout restaurant in the Hardrock. I was puking all the next morning and felt a little sick the rest of the trip (and no, I was not drinking at all). My friend also felt a little sick after eating there, but not as bad as me. I think it was either the oysters or the fondue.
Another thing that annoyed me is this, it's called the "Hard Rock". But when I first walked into the casino I saw exhibits for Miley Cyrus, Tupac, and Niki Menage. What they have to do with "Hard Rock" I'll never know! Not to mention, the whole rock and roll vibe that they did have was mostly of the darker side of rock. I wish they focused more on the fun and exciting side of rock and roll.
Believe it or not, there were some good things about this hotel. They did have a lot of cool displays of rock memorabilia all over the place. And they do have some cool concerts right in the hotel. While I was there they had the Scorpions doing a 5 night residency, which was awesome!! There was also a great 80's metal cover band playing in the club in the hotel right after the Scorpions concert.
There were also hot and sexy female acrobats swinging from the ceilings stationed all around the casino on the weekend! And it seems they went out of their way to hire lots of good looking cool and sexy staff. So, the eye candy was nice. But still not enough to make me want to stay there again.
