  • Unethical Business :: A woman knocked at my door asking for a water sample from my kitchen sink. The bottle appeared to already been used and just recently dumped out. She implied her sample was for a citywide study of water quality. She wore a badge with the Arizona state seal. She already knew some information about my residence. And asked for my name and phone number. I questioned as to why this information would be needed. She implied it was a survey of the water for public safety and not to worry because there would be no charge for the testing. I questioned what organization she was with several times. She refused to provide any information about her organization other than the name and a flyer for Valley Environmental Services, Inc. She stated my personal information was needed complete the survey. I do not appreciate being lied to or mislead. Initially, I felt bad when I provided them with the wrong phone number, etc. No I do not feel so bad. After she left, I discovered puddle of water in my driveway from what I can only assume was either my or my neighbor's water "sample". This is an unethical business approach. It is a misrepresentation of intent. The organization needs to reevaluate their sales operation.
