  • I stayed at the Village Park Inn for one night, as the weather was really snowy and I couldn't drive home from Calgary. My check-in over the phone was interesting, and was made by a woman who either wasn't listening to me, or couldn't listen to me. At any rate, the package deal I was to get was to include a breakfast. So I go to the hotel, check in (superfriendly staff) and get settled, and I see this notification about breakfast, so I fill it out, and hang it on my door., thinking this was the breakfast they had included in my rate when I reserved. Later on in the evening, I see a similar form in the drawer of the desk, and it has prices on it - something that I didn't notice before. So I call to the front desk, and they say that they would slip a coupon for breakfast under my door sometime that night. In the morning, I found the coupon - it was a coupon for the buffet, not the breakfast that I had ordered through room service. So, I resigned myself to waiting out for my breakfast, and explaining the situation to the front desk staff. Well, I had to leave early, so asked for my breakfast at 7am. The breakfast came around 7:10am, so I said I couldn't have it because I had to go. IN the end, the front desk was very accommodating, which was nice. Also, the bed in the "executive" suite's mattress was lumpy and old - springy. Not the best. So my advise to you if you stay here is this: don't get the package with the breakfast, unless you remind them at the front desk when you check in. Otherwise, my stay was good - but it left a "meh" taste in my mounth. Stayed February 2007
