  • My Experience: I was instructed by my primary vet to go to this clinic for an ultrasound for my pet who was not eating/drinking for the past few days. I arrived just before 4PM. After waiting 20-30 mins or so I was seen by someone (the doctor?) and was told to sign a form that the ultrasound would be $700. My primary vet told me that it would be $400 so I was quite surprised - I was told by this person that this was an "after hours emergency ultrasound". I questioned this because emergency hours don't start until after 5 PM and I arrived just before 4PM. They told me there were 2-3 other ultra sounds ahead of me so that is why I needed to pay the additional fee. This is an insane policy! What if I arrived at noon and there were 12 other ultrasounds ahead of me?? Would I still be charged the higher fee?? Ridiculous! My pet was taken to the back where I did not see him for 3 hours. I was told that the ultrasound would take anywhere from 20-60 minutes. Finally, I had to ask for an update on my pet and they told me that he was finished and that the docs were looking over his results. Another 30-40 went by before I then had to go to the front desk again and request that my pet be given back to me. Why did he need to be back there all that time when he could have been sitting in the waiting area with me?? Finally, they gave him back to me and we waited another several minutes before someone came back to tell me the situation. He had an attached mass in his stomach but was not considered "an emergency" because he was "stable". I left the clinic with verbal instructions to get medication at a local pharmacy and to talk to my vet the next day and the surgeons on Monday. All in all, I was at the clinic from about 4PM to about 9:15 PM. I was not given any discharge orders or a copy of his exam. When I got to the pharmacy, I had to call the clinic as to which exact medication to get. At that time the receptionist realized they sent me away without any discharge paperwork. By the time I got home my little pet and I were both exhausted. I tucked him in and made him as comfortable as I could. The next morning, I found him dead not far from where I last kissed him on the head and told him he was the best pet in the world for the very last time.
