  • Somebody needs to turn up the heat! Our visit tonight was a pretty lousy one. Our party of 5 was placed at a table by the front window, which was so cold, being next to the door. Not to difficult to crank up the heat to compensate! Our order consisted of 2 burgers, Broiled pork tenderloin, fish tacos, and white meat fried chicken. The courier burger was alright, but not really anything phenomenal. My mother had the broiled pork tenderloin, which I tasted and it had a good flavor to it. My wife had the fish tacos, which she liked. My sister ordered the fried chicken but she said it was nothing special and she could do better at home. The time spent waiting for our food was pretty unreasonable. More than a half hour spent waiting on food to arrive to our table, which feels much longer when you are freezing cold(we kept our coats on and were still cold). The fried chicken apparently was the item that held up our table. You would think with the amount of time they took, they would have gotten it right, but you would be wrong. It was supposed to be all white meat, but instead was a breast, thigh, and leg. The waitress said they must have mixed them up in the back. We took this as "I grabbed the wrong plate" but after another 5-10 minutes she hadn't come back. When she finally did come back, there was no offer to get what was ordered, but instead she offered to take a cheeseburger off our bill. So rather than make it right, we got "go ahead and eat the thing ya didn't want, and we'll comp the cheeseburger your son ordered." My sister started to eat the breast and on the 2nd bite almost puked right there at the table as she had bitten into a long black hair that was laced into the batter. At that point we alerted our waitress. The manager came over and said he would make the chicken dinner free and put the cheeseburger back on our bill. "Damn right you'll make it free, she had two bites and refuses to eat it!" So she had essentially no dinner and was not offered anything else except a free desert. It's been about 10 years since I'd been to the Courier and I don't think I'll ever be going back again. We really should have waited in line for some of the amazing BBQ on the next street over. If ya don't mind freezing, waiting forever for your food, getting the wrong order, and then finding hair in it... Yea, go try Courier Cafe
