| - I would warn any woman not to use this OB office, especially Dr. Sharon Thompson.
I had my first baby earlier this year and came to Dr. Thompson because some pieces of skin were growing on the outside of my vagina, where the skin tore during the birth. Those pieces of skin were extremely sensitive. Dr. Thompson sliced them off and then applied silver nitrate to melt the skin together--all without any anesthesia. (Doctors usually apply local anesthesia for this procedure because it's so painful.) I couldn't move afterward; I was in so much pain I couldn't even put my legs down and sit up on the table. When I did sit up and after she left the room, I just sat there and cried. It was so incredibly painful and the burning lasted a long time--this was completely unnecessary because she should have numbed the area first. Now, a couple of months later, I have excessive scar tissue in that same area, making it impossible to have intercourse with my husband. I went to a different OB for help (never, ever going back to Thompson), and she said I likely will need an episiotomy (under general anesthesia with a 6-week recovery).
On top of this, some of the office staff are just rude. One young woman in particular--I don't know her name--treated me like an inmate in a prison and chewed me out for arriving 10 mins late to my first appointment (I would have been on time but had to wait for someone to give me a ride, and he was late).
Please, don't go here! It's not worth it. I now go to Central Phoenix Women's Healthcare at 1313 E. Osborn Rd. and do recommend them. Good luck!
