Dropped by because I had a yearning for a bagel. So this was it, splurge time.
When I entered and asked a question about what kind of spreads they had, the two young clerks (one male and one female) must have found my question funny because they proceeded to look at each other and giggle. I looked at the menu above me and answered my own question.
I waited until they composed themselves and asked for one toasted whole wheat bagel and one poppy seed with a spread of garden vegetable cream cheese to go. The menu refers to spreads as a "shmeer", a Jewish term for a light amount of spread.
When I got home, I noted how light that "Shmeer" was. Very, very, very little spread on the bagel. So I basically paid $2.95 for a bagel. I also noted that these bagels seem to be smaller than most--not that I need a bigger bagel, but I am talking price-wise.
Before I left I asked the two young clerks if I had said anything that they construed as funny. They said no. But it was clear to me that they were being disrespectful as I am a senior and there's no telling what they found funny.
After the experience with these poorly trained and disrespectful clerks and the small amount of spread on a bagel, it's hard to convince myself to come back to this place.
