I went out of network with my insurance as Dr Field came highly recommended. He performed a herniated disc surgery and eight weeks later a spinal fusion on L5S1. I did everything that I was told to as far as post op i.e. walking, physical therapy etc. to the T. I went to all the follow up appointments with very little relief in my pain levels. I was told that it would take time to heal. After over a year of no relief I was told by Dr. Field that there was nothing more he could do for me and that he thought it was now a nerve issue and suggested I see a Neurologist. The Neurologist's opinions were that there was still something pinching the sciatic nerve root (that Dr Field had worked on) and diagnosed me with Neuropathy because of this pinching. It was his opinion that the 2nd surgery was not successful. Upon returning to Dr Field to report his findings, he adamantly disagreed and pretty much escorted me out of his office although his PA wanted me to take x-rays he disagreed. I felt he was through with me and did not care about my chronic pain. I went for a second opinion with an in network Orthopedic Surgeon where he did more MRI's and a CT scan. Imagine my surprise when I was told by this second Orthopedic that in his opinion the spinal fusion did not take and that one of the two screws supporting the cage in my spine went all the way thru and in his words is "kissing" a major artery. Had a puncture occurred on the operating table this could've been catastrophic for me. It appears that I'm in store for a 3rd surgery to reconstruct Dr Field's "work". I failed to mention the opioid screening from a 3rd party lab he uses. They tried to charge me $20,000 for urine testing which is mandatory. Luckily I was able to negotiate that down. Such a horrible experience that ending up costing me my job as I am no longer able to perform my duties due to my disability that I now have. Not to mention my continuing chronic pain. I would not recommend him to anyone.
