  • Whilst strolling around Marda Loop after a filling brunch, my sister and I stumbled across a food truck parked on 33rd Ave SW called Vasili's. Intrigued, we stopped to peruse their list and were immediately greeted by a friendly woman from the truck. After chatting with her for a bit, explaining we had already had an elaborate breakfast, she recommended that we try a dessert, and save it for later. We settled on the Ekmek, which we brought home to snack on. To say the least, it was a 5$ chunk of heaven! With fluffy whipped cream, topped with almond slices, layered atop a bed of phyllo, all the textures coexist so harmoniously! Thank goodness we stopped to check out Vasili's, I have been longing for more Ekmek every since! They update their Twitter and Facebook pages with their location for the day, as it is ever-changing. Next time, I must try one of their pitas.
