  • This butcher shop is worth visiting even if you're not from the Bloor West Village area. It's the oldest butcher shop in Toronto and it's still in the same family. This is the definitely the case of the people making the place. The people who own and work here seems to just take pride in what they do and what they have to offer. Drop by, choose from the many cuts of meat and ask the person behind the counter how best to prepare it. I guarantee that you'll get the most thoughtful questions and answers. Enjoy the old school vibe of the place complete with the sawdust on the floor. And for a treat, chat up the blonde lady (owner's wife) that works at the cashier -- she's a hoot and a good soul; I just wish I can remember her name since I've been going there for the past 8 years.
