I got a gel manicure here right before Christmas. It was $50 before tip and taxes for one solid colour, which is a little more expensive than average. The salon itself is very pretty, the tools are hygienically packaged, and the autoclave where they're sterilized was in full view.
Pros: the aesthetician did an absolutely beautiful job shaping my nails. I've got tiny, stubby nails by nature, and she made them look oval and via some strategic cuticle clipping, a lot larger than they are. The manicure itself was also gorgeous... for about a week.
Cons: Around Day 8, my manicure was chipping at the tips. By day 10, it was lifting around the edges. I wasn't doing anything strenuous or working with harsh chemicals. It simply didn't last as long as significantly cheaper gel manicures. Heck, I've had regular manicures which lasted longer. Since I justify gel manicures based on their long life-- and getting them too often is bad for nails anyway-- I can't see myself coming back here.
