| - I never post a review, but I had the weirdest experience at this salon.
Since I moved here, I have not found a salon to my liking. I finally figured out that in Montreal when I asked for coloring and blow dry, I need to insist on no styling because that means the stylist will tack on an extra $40+ to blow dry my hair and try to curl my hair in some sort of "style".
So at Level 3, I requested just to color my hair and blow dry. All went well, Brett was very attentive and amicable. In fact the whole place was nice, quiet, and relaxed.
I was thinking of getting my next haircut here, and happy to have found a new place in Montreal.
Then after my hair was washed. I was escorted to the back of the salon. There was a wall, small mirror, few used, rather dirty looking brushes, and a blow dryer. The guy who washed my hair reminded me not to be shy and just ask if I needed to use some products. Then left me there to blow dry my own hair!!!! I was flabbergasted.
Is this how salons operate in Montreal? $58 for coloring / tinting is about the average price. But even the worst salon I've been to shampoo / condition and blow dry with no extra charge. I don't need any styling, I just don't want to walk out with wet hair.
I found myself very uncomfortable and blew dry my hair as fast as possible so I could leave (did not use any of their brushes or products). It felt like going to a restaurant and having to wash my dishes after my meal.
Is it me, or is this pretty much the norm in Montreal salons?
