  • Went in to get a lobe piercing on my right ear today, bringing Friend A from a former review (for Doomie's, if you must know. Will be rewriting that one as I was in a rush DUE TO THE FACT THAT THAT PLACE GAVE ME MARATHON-STYLE RUNS. :( Anyways, I digress. Went in to get a lobe piercing with Friend A for moral support because I'm a baby. I got set-up with Stacy who was very friendly and super informative. Even Friend A who had quite a history with piercings and tattoos was impressed with how thorough Stacy was when instructing me on the process and aftercare and what-not. It was super quick and painless, with checks before and after to see if I liked the placement. I paid $35 for the single lobe piercing, which is pretty standard. Not too high (like when Blu God was open and they charged me $90 for two lobes plus a $30 aftercare kit) and not too cheap(like that one place in Kensington that charges less than $20 next to the Nando's, which begs the questions "Uh, what?" and "Is this even safe?".) I also got the $3 soap that they sell there. I thought it was gonna be some hip, cult-favourite ear soap that all the piercers/body jewellery enthusiasts use. It was SoapWorks Vegetable Glycerin Soap. Which, fair enough, if it's good, then why not? Also, though, SoapWorks is usually $2.99 + tax, and they only charged me three bucks flat, so I saved 14 cents! Thanks New Tribe! Overall, would I recommend this place? TOTALLY! The staff that I met today were friendly (Stacy and the tall, cute guy who came in from smoking a bogie), the process was educational and efficient, and the space, with it's retro black and white checkered floor, was comfy and not at all uppity like some other tattoo parlours. If you're ever down there, go check 'em out! They're right beside and above that Warehouse place. You know, the place with $5 dishes that all the students/frustrated yuppies go to? Anyways, definitely gonna go there again if I decide to get my other lobe pierced! Mmmkay, byeeeeee! xoxo
