| - I have mixed review about this place. This past visit, along with the Yelp group, it was excellent even though I was only here for one night. One night that , we think, MGM made an error in pricing.

I booked it anyways and was pleasantly surprised that they had honor the reservation.
Not only that, I got to shake the hand of the manager on duty. If I had any concerns, I could just phone in. I was placed in their newer rooms, a Grand Queen room

Now, I have stayed here before in the same type room. So I know exactly how it was before. It wasn't bad but it was dull, lacked color. Well, there is now an abundance of color splashed on the walls with art. I noticed the walls were actually the same (look closely, they are actually a little dirty) , they just remodeled pretty much everything else, including all the cabinetry and the fixtures. It had lots of energy and vibrance to it. Not bad for a remodel.
The cons of this room was that they had that mini electronic fridge bar. The one that is really sensitive. So when my bill came upon checkout, I had to make an extra call to let them know nothing was taken.
Something also really strange was that when we came back after dinner, the TV was on. Huh? Someone came inside the room and dropped off robes and slippers. Oh, a night turndown perhaps? Or someone just got bored and watched TV because the beds weren't made.
But there were plenty of positives. The Yelp rate, like my elite friends who stayed here, got a bottle of Veuve Clicquot.

Yes, it is crisp and refreshing, one of the better brands I've tasted.
Yes, I did get chocolate and Fuji water too.
I was given a late checkout considering the Billboard awards was the next day.

My only gripe for this trip was the pool here could use a little help. From the last time I was here, it has changed quite a bit. It is now louder, more people, and the theme of the pools doesn't help the guests navigating through it. I have no idea how to get to the pool I wanted and help was non existent. It was just a clusterf*ck of people drinking and fighting. I'm not condoning it, it was just way too many people and by the time I got there, the lazy river was closing even though the pool is supposed to be closed at 7pm.
Another gripe is that the Lion exhibit is closed currently. Why????
My past stay here have consisted of getaways with friends and roommates.
I have also booked a group of rooms here before and had a really horrific experience, including lack of hot water and being forced to prepay for all the room for all the days.
This stay, by comparison, was terrific for the most part. If it can be like this everytime, I would be coming back for sure. Until then, I will wait for the renovations be over. I somehow always stay at MGM when they're doing some sort of renovations, maybe I just have bad timing. Either that or they are always doing these Renos. I will make sure I checked the calendar from their website next time.
