  • Updated 5-4-08 This past weekend at this Hotel, it went a little subpar for me. I am taking a star off. There was nothing wrong with the 777 pub nor was there anything wrong with the gambling here. I can never find anything wrong with those two. I was a little unhappy with my accomodations here. Here's why: 1) I booked in advance and couldn't get players rate so I just booked the internet price. I checked 2 days before arrival and saw a lower price. What gives? I had to be on hold for 20 minutes just to save $15. 2) I got to my room and took a shower. The cold water knob was backwards. After an exhausting 6 hours in the car, the last thing I wanted to do in the shower was to try and figure out what goes where. 3) There was a half eating donut in my fridge? WTF??? 4) The elevator didn't work when I needed to downstairs to my conference. Hence, I had to walk the stairs. Damn it! I requested a high floor. 5) There was a clicking noise throughout the night. I am a light sleeper. Let's just say I slept less than 1/2 of the fingers on my hand. I still like it here, don't get me wrong. I just think I got a really shitty room this past weekend. My previous review is below. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can tell you just about everything on this hotel and anything associate with it. I do love coming here, it feels like home away from home for me. I'll tell you what a typical weekend for me is like here. Friday: arrive from 3- 6pm. it is when they have their happy house specials at the 777 pub. I can't quite remember the prices but the micro-brews and appetizers are a must to get. If I had to guess it's $1 off the beer and 1/2 off on the appetizers. Once in awhile, the brewmaster will have seasonal flavors you will not see on the menu. Make sure you ask your waitress. Oh, do get the garlic fries and the oysters, they are soooo good! The rooms: yeah, about that. It is clean but you are not going to expect much. NOTE: if you sensitive to noise, you will want to request a really high floor because the train (yes you heard it right), comes through and you can hear it at 4am. Saturday: play at the tables here, it is less smoky than at the CAL. You can even play and watch the games on the big screen above. However, if the tables are full, then well...take the skybridge and walk over. If you play enough and have a player's card, make sure you ask them to feed you. If you play really long, then you might be able to feed your whole party at the buffet. Sunday: So if the pit supervisor does give you a slip for the buffet, you can almost bypass the regular line and use the special guest line. I LOVE the main street garden court buffet. This is the only place with Hawaiian specialties like kalua pork and manapua. They also have rotisserie chicken, pizza, southern specials, mexican, chinese...and goes on and on. If only this place had a pool....I guess I am asking too much. :-)
