| - DJ's is almost closed for the season and thus my fruit and veggie consumption will invariably decline over the winter as I am stuck with my local Co-op and Safeway's produce. (Sad face.)
A fantastic fruit and veg stand with predominantly local (AB & BC) produce, DJ's has everything at very reasonable prices. I asked them if they had access to local chickens - within a few weeks, they had fresh Hutterite chickens. I also love the fresh farm eggs and cheap, cheap fresh herbs.
If you do any canning, soup/pie making, or love mojito's - who doesn't? (Bags of mint for $1.49) DJ's is the place to go. Often, they will have weekly specials and sell cases of berries, peaches, etc.
This is a family business and they are very pleasant to deal with. Any time I've ever asked them if they have something, they'll either get it for me, or let me know why they don't have it and when I can expect it.
I have many years of taste testing experience so if you need any quality control on your creations, I can pop over and provide this valuable community service for you.
