1. I'm under the impression that Odysea is separately owned from Dolphinaris. They are in different parts of the complex, so it's possible to visit Odysea without patronizing Dolphinaris if the idea of dolphins being forced to entertain people in a desert makes you as uncomfortable as it does some people (like me for instance).
2. Odysea is a cute, one day activity with young kids. It's not a great aquarium compared to any on the coast, but it's a pretty good one for the Phoenix/ Scottsdale area. There are some interactive exhibits and good learning activities, plus it's all air conditioned, which is a must for summer in the desert.
